Biography

"The Rockin' most Rockabilly band to spring out of Montreal! They put on a wild stage show which will leave you breathless, exhausted, and satisfied." - Miss SophiaWolff, Jive dance instructor

The band started out in 1994 as Jim Dandy and his Howlin' Hound Dogs. Alas, frontman Jim Dandy, like Elvis, was forced to leave for military service in Europe and never returned. We believe he is still alive in our hearts...or possibly somewhere hidden in Argentina. After a couple of line-up changes, the band finally found its best and present-day form. The boys have excited many audiences in Quebec and the United States including: Club Soda, the Jive Joint, Jello Bar, Le Swimming, Bar St. Laurent, Studio Main, Rochester's "Rockabilly Hop", New Jersey's "We Wanna Boogie" and "Lead East Festival," Hartford’s “Road Agent’s Rumble” Hot Rod and Rockabilly show, Ste. Hyacinthe “Retro Festival”, Joly’s “Retro Festival” and many of the bi-yearly Rockabilly Jams in Montreal. Their influences include : Eddie Cochran, Johnny Burnette, Johnny Horton, Bill Allen, Sleepy la Beef and Buddy Holly. Their favourite modern bands include: The Rimshots, The Barnshakers, Wayne Hancock, Ray Condo and Jack Baymoore and his Bandits. Some of their songs include: Bottle To The Baby (Charlie Feathers), All I can do is Cry (Wayne Walker), Slip Slip Slippin In (Lou Millet), and Mon Amour Du Rock-n-Roll (Marcel Martel - a French-Canadian rockabilly artist from Quebec, 1957).
